JAPANESE FOR HERITAGE SPEAKERS (AGE 6-9)
Description: Through shared analysis of culturally relevant texts, issues, and scenarios, learners will focus on making meaning as a community and expanding the development of reading and writing skills in Japanese. Learners are given frequent opportunities to practice in context-rich, authentic scenarios, as well as direct instruction on Japanese grammar and conventions. This class is intended for students who have attended immersion programs or have been exposed to Japanese extensively in the home and focuses on literacy as well as bilingualism.

Classes run from September to May. Learners may join at any time. Monthly commitment. 1.5 hour class, week day after school.
